Working alongside experienced colleagues who will supervise your development and a dedicated mentor providing support and guidance throughout your training. You will have regular reviews with your manager and tutor so you know how you are doing and can gain support with any activities to help you progress.

At Southampton City Council we are committed to paying Foundation Living Wage as a minimum and we believe apprentices should also be paid fairly. Your salary as an apprentice will be £24,795 annually and may increase in line with any national rise in Foundation Living Wage.

Although we can’t guarantee you a permanent job at the end of your apprenticeship, we will support you to apply for other roles within the council, and help make sure you are ready for a wider job search with support from our Employment Skills team.

Apprentice Debt Officer x 2 - About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Apprentice Debt Officers to join the Debt Management Centre.

We are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills, the ability to handle potentially challenging situations with professionalism, and confidence using a range of IT systems.

The successful applicants will demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in developing a career in debt recovery and financial operations. You must be self-motivated, able to multitask, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.

You will be working towards the Level 3 Senior Credit Controller and Debt Collection Specialist apprenticeship with CSA Learning. The duration of this apprenticeship is 16 months with 4 months for the End Point Assessment.

These roles are a fixed term apprenticeship, 37 hours a week

This is a fixed term position and the salary will be pro rata of the above salary.

These posts are fixed term for 20 months

Please note the salary quoted is based on full time hours (37 hours).

It is usual for successful candidates to start at the bottom of the pay grade.
