About the role:
A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Building Control Surveyor working within the building control team. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills, good knowledge of building construction and will be expected to work flexibly from home and from the offices at the Civic Centre Southampton.
The candidate will be supported with IT equipment and relevant training to enable them to undertake competency testing and registration with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) as a Class 2 A ‘Building Inspector’.
The role will involve inspection of work on a range of construction projects and checking plans for compliance with building regulation requirements. Also, inspection of dangerous structures and buildings undergoing demolition will be required. This role would suit someone with a construction or architectural background or someone who wants to develop their career in this exciting and dynamic environment.
