Childrenís Team Manager - Jigsaw (Children with Disabilities)

We are looking for an experienced and adept manager to undertake the role of Team Manager for our successful Jigsaw Team (for children with disabilities) within Southampton’s Children’s Services.

 

This is an exciting job with a creative and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team provided by Solent NHS and the Southampton City Council. The team is well-established with successful systems and processes in place to support families & respond to statutory requirement associated with children with disabilities.

 

The interagency work with children and their families in the Jigsaw Team was recognisedin the the recent Ofsted inspection

 

 “Disabled children in need of help and protection are well supported through an effective multi-disciplinary team.  Good Quality assessments identify children’s needs, resulting in targeted interventions to meet those needs.  Social workers use imaginative approaches to working alongside children to gain their views and understand their day-to-day experiences.” (November 2019).

 

Previous experience of working with children and families with SEND is essential although the Jigsaw team and integrated approach to working will provide the strong support and opportunities to develop your skills in this area. The team and the postolder is well supported by an established network of agencies, clinicians and clinical leads, providers, parent forums, commissioners as well as service leads and managers in Southampton City Council and Solent NHS Trust. Specific expertise will be provided from a discplines including Learning Disability nursing, Family Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Education colleagues, in addition to working with a wider network of professionals across universal, targeted and specialist services.

 

You will be registered with Social Work England.  Although the bulk of the caseload are within the Children in Need  you will need to be able to demonstrate breadth of knowledge across a range of statutory social work processes including child protection through PLO and court proceedings to looked after children and adult transition arrangements.
