Programme Manager

Salary: £65,222 – £73,834 (starting at £65,222, with annual progression)
Location: Southampton City Council

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team driving transformational change at Southampton City Council. With a portfolio of 28 projects and programmes underway, we are reshaping services, introducing new technology, and delivering better outcomes for the city and its residents.

We are looking for two experienced Programme Managers to play a pivotal role in our Projects and Change team. You will lead complex, high-profile programmes such as:

  • Local Government Reorganisation
  • Digital transformation
  • Transforming adult social care
  • Enhancing resident services

You will take ownership of delivery, manage multidisciplinary teams, and navigate the political landscape of the public sector with ease. Strong stakeholder management, people leadership, and the ability to drive cultural and behavioural change to improve customer outcomes are essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex programmes across multiple service areas
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Drive cultural and behavioural change to improve customer experience
  • Ensure delivery within agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards
